Three questions, answered before you drive there

Fits your car

Measured fit

Every spot has a width. Your car has a width. WideSpot does the math for the exact spot, not the whole garage: 250cm bay, 192cm car, room to spare.

Door clearance

No door dings

You park far away on purpose, so nobody dings your doors. You don't have to anymore: WideSpot marks the spots with room on both sides, close to where you're going.

In shade

Shade, computed

Sun position plus real building data tells you if a spot is shaded now and until when, down to the quarter hour. Works across all of Switzerland.

How it works

  1. 1Tell it your car once. Pick a class or enter the exact width.
  2. 2Search a destination or tap "Near me".
  3. 3Tap Navigate on the best spot. Turn-by-turn opens in your maps app.
  4. 4Parked? Rate the spot in ten seconds and make it better for the next driver.

Widths measured from the sky

Aerial photo of a Swiss parking row: yellow dots mark each known spot, a dimension line shows a measured bay width of 2.59 meters
A real row from our data: every dot is a spot we know, the width is measured, not guessed. Imagery: swisstopo (SWISSIMAGE).

Most parking apps guess at sizes. WideSpot measures them: we analyze official swisstopo aerial photography of Switzerland at 10cm per pixel and read the real geometry of parking rows, the painted dividers and the repeating spacing of parked cars. That gives the true center-to-center width of side-by-side spots, the number that decides whether your door opens.

300,000+ spots carry a width measured this way, marked "width measured" in the app. Where trees or shadow hide the ground, the label stays honest and says "width estimated" instead of guessing. The same imagery also spots yellow markings, the Swiss sign for private parking, so the app can warn you before you drive to a reserved spot.

A map that learns

Every use sharpens the data. Rate a spot, confirm it fit, or report one that doesn't exist, and it flows straight back into the map: widths get confirmed, door clearance gains real-world proof, wrong spots disappear. After you navigate somewhere, the app asks one question, "did the spot work out?", and your answer helps the next driver. The map you use tomorrow is better than the one you used today.

And it's not machines all the way down: we audit every user-submitted spot and every private-parking flag against the aerial imagery, so bad data gets caught by a human, not by you in a parking lot.

Swiss data, no account

Your data is stored in Switzerland, under Swiss and EU data protection law. There is no sign-up: no email, no password, no profile to leak. Your car's width stays on your device. Photos you share are automatically stripped of location data, and license plates and faces are blurred before anyone sees them.

1,000,000+ spots mapped across all of Switzerland. Switzerland only for now; neighbouring countries are next.

Stop circling. Start parking.
